So many people each New Year set a resolution. They vary from person to person, but usually they revolve around improving yourself in some way. Loosing weight, getting into a workout routine, changing jobs, getting serious about looking for a significant other...and the list goes on.
However, statistics show that but February most people have given up on their resolutions. Why? Usually it is for a number of reasons. It could be that they set their expectations too high, they may not have clearly defined what it was they were seeking, or they just did not have the proper motivation to stay on task.
All these pitfalls are exactly what a Coach can help with. Defining goals, making a realistic plan and accountability. These may seem like such easy steps, but so many people get lost in the details and do not accomplish their New Years Resolutions.
In addition to not having a defined realistic plan and accountability, people also need to focus on what their inner voice is also telling them about their resolution. So often, we set goals and plans, and then self sabotage with that inner voice telling us that we cannot do it. This voice may be soft and perhaps you may not even be aware of it. Or perhaps, it is screaming like a lunatic. Either way we need to be aware of what we are telling ourselves about what we can and cannot do.
Whether it is a professional coach or a good friend that will help you see things from a different prospective, having someone else help you with your New Year's Resolution may just help you achieve it!
